The Postgraduate Certificate, also known as Graduate Certificate (Grad.Cert.) is a specialised postgraduate qualification. Postgrad. Cert. can be equivalent to a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree depending on the country in which you study it. Graduate schools offer Postgrad.Cert. programmes in almost any discipline and they usually take one year of full-time study to complete.
Postgraduate Certificates are ideal for people who already have work experience and want to advance their careers, but don’t have time for a Master’s degree. To graduate, students need to pass each course with a specific grade. Some Grad.Cert. courses also include internship placements.
Universities and colleges offer Grad.Cert. courses both individually and as part of a Master’s degree. In the UK, for example, a Postgraduate Certificate is equivalent to a Bachelor’s qualification, but it’s much shorter and generally only available for disciplines like Psychology, Law, Management, etc.
In Ireland or the United States, a Postgrad.Cert. is equal to a Master’s qualification. Both in Canada and the US, a Postgraduate Certificate can also be one of the requirements for graduating a Master’s programme.
Ireland is among the top countries in the world in terms of quality of life, peace, safety, and development. It represents an appealing blend of beautiful landscapes, English-speaking environments, and a strong, welcoming, and rich culture — of which the Irish people are very proud. International students also enjoy the full support of Irish universities, which hire and train staff that are able to help with accommodation, studies, visa details, or any other challenge.
