Research
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Research and Technology Transfer manages science policy, promotion activities, dissemination and management of research, development and innovation. It therefore has competence in the following areas:
- Proposal and formalisation of all types of research grants, both internal and external
- Authorisation and signing of contracts and agreements
- Proposals for infrastructures and equipment
- Institutes and research centres
- Research results transfer
- Management and coordination of all research resources

Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News & World Report presents all the top universities from the U.S. and 60 other countries around the world. They measure the rate of students going to their second year of studies, as well as the rate of students who graduate. It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.
Student services
International Relations Office (ORI): carries out , among others, the following activities :
- The information and advice to the university community on the different international programs in higher education
- Promotion and management of the mobility of students and teachers
- With respect to the students of the University of Vigo provides
- With respect to the teaching staff of the University of Vigo , the ORI provides information about exchange programs and teaching programs of international cooperation
- With respect to the foreign students, the ORI manages the acceptance of those who participate in the exchange program
- The elaboration and negotiation of international cooperation agreements
Housing services
The University of Vigo has a hall of residence located on the campus As Lagoas, MarcosendeThe hall of residence has the most modern facilities and services available for you to study at your pace while developing your career. It is located on Vigo Campus, just two minute walking from the shopping area and the Rector's office.
Library services
The University Library of Vigo manages and places at the University community’s disposal a set of information resources and services as a support to its learning activities, teaching and research.
The Library is present at the three campus (Ourense, Pontevedra and Vigo) through a network formed by eleven libraries coordinated by the Central Library of the Lagoas-Marcosende campus in Vigo.
Medical services
The University of Vigo has a medical centre, run by specialised professionals, to cater to the health demands of the university community.
This medical centre provides medical attention to university staff and also coordinates health vigilance activities.
