Klaipėdos valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution (KVK) is the third-largest HEI in Lithuania that provides professional Bachelor degree studies. KVK counts 100 years of experience in preparing professional practitioners.

History

1902 Klaipeda Teachers’ Seminary was established (Klaipeda Higher Pedagogical School since 1991).
2001 Klaipeda Higher Pedagogical School merged with Klaipeda Higher Medical School → Klaipeda College.
2009 Klaipeda College merged with Klaipeda Business and Technology College → Klaipėdos valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution.

Education

A modern, open to the public, continuously learning higher education institution, conducting studies recognised in the international environment, developing applied research activities and contributing to sustainable national and regional development.

Research

KVK is developing applied research and experimental development in medicine and health, natural, technological, and social sciences. We carry out advanced applied research, innovative solutions, prototypes and actively cooperate with the business sector, carry out outsourced research. Applied research is implemented in three faculties and their laboratories. Applied research is carried out by researchers – lecturers, associate professors.

Career

The Center for Studies and Careers is a unit that coordinates the entire study process and provides student career management services to students.
Studies are oriented to practical training, so internships are coordinated centrally in every faculty through four business practical learning enterprises (BPLE) where an activity of Business Company can be simulated. Also students have their internships in different companies, hotels and other, which are mainly our social partners. Students usually do not have less than 24 ECTS during their study period.

Very good!

College studies went very well. I made a lot of new friends, I joined the student representative club, which allowed me to gain a lot of new experience. The teachers of the college were all very good and kind, they helped me when I had questions about my studies.

Erasmus Period

It was very productive to put the theoretical knowledge into practice since it is a university where the application side predominates. The fact that the instructors are knowledgeable in their fields helps them take students one step further.

My studying experience

College provides all the necessary knowledge for their students. Also you can find student's representation clubs, in which you can join and also get new experiences, offer your ideas and etc.

Student services

Student’s Representation has different departments each of which coordinates different students’ matters, concerning social, academic, international, leisure, marketing and other.
ESN KUK Klaipeda is a part of the biggest student association in Europe called Erasmus Student Network which is present in more than 1000 Higher Education Institutions in 42 Countries.

Housing services

We can offer accommodation for incoming students (only for study mobilities) in KVK dormitory located Debreceno g. 25, Klaipeda. Month cost is 120 EUR. If you want to live in dormitory, mark its option in application form and we will inform about possibilities.

Library services

Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library Information System (eLABa) – is a national academic electronic library that preserves and provides public access to research and studies documents and their metadata.

Medical services

The EHIC gives access to any state-provided medical treatment that becomes necessary during your stay because of either illness or an accident. It includes treatment of a chronic or pre-existing medical condition that becomes necessary during your visit.

Campus life

Students are offered to live in a dormitory (equipped rooms with single or communal bath, communal kitchen, washing machines). Dormitory address is Debreceno str. 25, Klaipeda.
