History
The Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1971. With effect from 1 January 2003, it passed into the sponsorship of the Stiftung 'Fachhochschule Osnabrück’ as an incorporated foundation under public law. This provides us with important design leeway while demonstrating a significant sign of trust from the country with regard to the university's performance.

Osnabrück University in the heart of the city
The University of Osnabrück is located in many Osnabrück buildings, partly in Osnabrück Castle. Lively, research-focused and quality-conscious, with a wide-ranging, scientifically based range of courses – this is how the University of Osnabrück presents itself today. It is harmoniously embedded in the peace city of Osnabrück with tradition and rich cultural life.
Recommended to develop managerial skills
The Campus itself is pretty nice. Most of the Professors have a good teaching style, of course, you have the occasional outliers but that is pretty normal in every University. The Programme structure has some missing points in my opinion. Therefore most students do not feel prepared for a few courses, especially considering the differences in their prior career paths.
Practice oriented experience
The University of Osnabrck is known for its diverse, practice-oriented programs that prepare students for real-world challenges. It emphasizes internationalization, offering numerous exchange programs and partnerships with global institutions. This focus creates a rich, multicultural environment, making it an attractive choice for both local and international students seeking hands-on learning and global exposure.

Campus life
In recent years, many large construction projects with a volume of approx. €80 million have been built at the Westerberg Campus. In addition to the new cafeteria with up to 5,000 meals per day, the new modern lecture hall attracts attention due to its striking architecture and coloring. In 2015, the new 8,500-square-meter library was inaugurated. In contrast to these, there are also the over 100-year old historical buildings which are used by the university which achieved great military importance particularly during the first world war and during the period of the British occupation in Osnabrück.
Sports facilities
Get moving after studying, try new sports together with others or just clear your head - students have numerous sports and relaxation facilities available in Osnabrück and Lingen.
Student clubs
The General Students' Committee (AStA) takes care of all interests, wishes and recommendations of students and works closely with the student Parliament and Student Councils.
