History
On 1 October 1990 in accordance with federal state law the EWH becomes the University of Koblenz-Landau. The Faculty of Computer Science in Koblenz and the Faculty of Psychology in Landau are established. The university now consists of eight faculties in total at two sites.
Education
The university offers future specialists and executives a diverse range of Bachelor and Master programmes in education, social sciences, cultural studies, the humanities and life sciences as well as psychology and computer science. The traditional core of teaching at the university is its teacher training programmes for all school types.
In the area of continuing education a sophisticated range of study programmes, distance-learning programmes as well as seminars has been developed for an ever-changing working and professional environment.
Research
The University of Koblenz-Landau is a young, medium-sized university with a pronounced research orientation within the thematic trias "LEARNING-SOCIETY-ENVIRONMENT".
They indicate established strengths in research and teaching as well as special development potentials at their intersections. All three high profile areas comprise basic and applied research as well as various scientific disciplines, traditions and methods. They form the basis for a versatile range of studies and advanced training courses as well as a range of diverse research activities.

Housing services
You can either apply for one of the apartments in the halls of residence or look for accommodation on the private housing market.
- The Student Services („Studierendenwerk“) are an independent organisation which runs most of the halls of residences in Germany. The University of Koblenz-Landau works closely together with the Studierendenwerk in Koblenz and Landau.
- If you search for an accommodation on the private housing market from abroad, please also be cautious. Unfortunately, there is also fraud. Sometimes there are online ads for apartments which do not even exist.
Library services
The University Library provides information and literature for students, teachers and researchers at Koblenz and Landau.
Medical services
For students a health insurance is obligatory in order to study in Germany. This means you need to show a proof of your health insurance when you enrol at the University Koblenz-Landau.
