University of Gaziantep

• Established in 1974, the Gaziantep Engineering Faculty of which the medium of instruction is English is the basis of the University of Gaziantep.

• The Gaziantep Engineering Faculty was founded by the opening of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1974.

• The University of Gaziantep became an independent state university on 27th June 1987.

Objectives The University of Gaziantep has always tried to train its students as enlightened, research-minded, scientifically-oriented graduates of good character. The main objectives of the University are:

• Cultural, scientific, technical, medical and vocational education and training,

• Fundamental and applied research,

• Development of perspectives with respect to social issues, responsibilities and ethics,

• Technical, scientific and cultural exchanges with similar institutions at national and international levels,

• Professional adaptation to our rapidly changing society and the world in general, with particular attention to European Higher Education Area,

• Contribution to the development of Turkey.

Almost all units of our university have laboratories available for training purposes related to their own subjects. Besides these laboratories, at each of 9 different departments and provincial divisions, computer laboratories with internet connection are set up for students for their education, research, thesis and homework.
