History
The history of technical higher education in Cluj-Napoca goes back to the beginning of the previous century. The unification of the Romanian provinces into a single state, on December 1st 1918, opened new perspectives for education. On February 1st 1920, the Industrial College was founded in Cluj-Napoca.
Education
The educational offer, aligning the Bologna system, includes Bachelor, Master, Ph.D. programmes of study as well as lifelong educational programmes. The domains of study range widely from engineering to architecture, from fundamental sciences to social sciences, humanities and arts.
Research
The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, one of the 12 universities of “advanced research and education" in Romania, aims at engaging itself in producing outstanding scientific results and approaching interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary subjects.
Furthermore, it strives to integrate the research results in the exchange of national and international values, to increase its national and international visibility, and also attract and create highly skilled human resources.

Housing services
The University offers accommodation in student hostels in two locations in the town of Cluj-Napoca and in one location in Baia-Mare.
The students can be housed in the hostels from the following areas: Complexul Studentesc Observator, Complexul Studentesc Marasti or Complexul Studentesc Baia-Mare.
Library services
The Library of the Technical University from Cluj Napoca was founded in 1948, on the basis of the library belonging to the former School of Electromechanics Conductor Engineers.
Sports facilities
The Swimming GroundThe Swimming Ground of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca is dedicated to a large public, from children, to students, undergraduates, sportsmen, adults, as it is one of the most agreeable place for sports and relaxation in our city.The ground has a small sized and two large swimming pools: the outdoor pool, open during the summer, has Olympic sports dimensions.

Students Cultural Club
The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca has initiated and developed since 1996 activities for education through art and culture for students and staff. In this way, students have the chance of becoming creative individuals in arts and culture dedicated mainly to their peers.
The relationship creator-consumer was developed within the Students’ Cultural Club in specific activities.
