In 1987 the territorial diffusion process of the University began, the Politecnico Network, which led to the opening of the regional campuses of Como (1987) and Lecco (1989) and of the regional facilities in Cremona (1991), in Mantova (1994) and in Piacenza (1997), with the aim of establishing a more direct relationship with the students and interacting with the community's local businesses.

In order to identify the competences inside the Departments, Politecnico di Milano uses the European Research Council (ERC)’s panels and their related keywords, that are worldwide recognized. The European Research Council supports frontier research, cross disciplinary proposals and pioneering ideas in new and emerging fields which introduce unconventional and innovative approaches. Some Professors and student tutors are available to you if you need some pointers on organising your studies, on teaching and on the way exams are run, or if you have to overcome some basic shortcomings to be able to proceed further with your educational program.
Politecnico di Milano offers to Visiting Professors and Visiting Researchers (holders of a Host Agreement with Politecnico) the possibility to stay in its residences, proposing single rooms or small apartments.
The First Aiders are duly trained employees of Politecnico, capable of handling medical emergencies, evaluating the severity of such incidents and giving first aid.

Polimi Sport Mantova is an association responsible in organizing sports activities and events for students, teachers and administrative staff with very affordable rates and conditions.
Politecnico di Milano supports the cultural, social, sporting and recreational activities promoted by the students of the University. Its Board of Governors decides annually on the funds to be allocated to the financing of such initiatives.

It was a good experience studying at polimi. Have learnt a lot of things technically. It was hard at the start to catch up as it was a different pattern for me but with time, it was easy to catch up.
The course outline is according to the requirements of modern industry. The professors are very helpful and cooperative. Scholarships are available to cover most of the expenses.
Being in an international high ranked university was a really good experience to expand my knowledge. Moreover, I tried to learn different cultures from different people coming from various countries from west to east.Overall, I am satisfied with my choice and the best motivation was the scholorship I recieved from the Italy's government.
