Offering professionals the chance to gain a state-recognized university degree without having to give up work or restrict their professional activity – this has been the objective of FOM University of Applied Sciences since its foundation in 1993.

Alongside professionals from all sectors of industry and with varying functions, trainees wishing to combine in-company training with a Bachelor degree course as part of a dual study programme also study at the internationally oriented university. To enable both professionals and trainees to optimally combine study and work, lectures are held in the evenings and at weekends. Many courses can also be taken on two days a week during the day.

Research and development are of major importance at the FOM: they do not only take place on the basis of the Northrhine Westphalia law for greater autonomy for higher education institutions (Hochschulfreiheitsgesetz), but are also an important pillar of the guiding principle of the university.

The aims of the university: to further develop scientific training and education, to transfer scientific findings to business practice and to enable students on a scientific level. The main emphases in terms of content are career- and education research, contributions to competence development in SMEs, taxation law issues as well as economic analyses.

I had great learning experience and had deep insights into subjects. Due to covid 19 situation we're tough and thus despite these testing times the course was upto required standard.

The university is a great opportunity for people who already have working experience. Should there be no experience, it is still possible to handle, but much harder. They have very independent possibilities in combining work and studies.
