History
Our University, despite its recent establishment, originates from three historical and dynamic educational and research entities in the region Attica, the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences and the National School of Public Health, which has produced thousands of graduates and contributed to the development of the country and also worldwide.
Education
UNIWA is a dynamic and constantly evolving institution that strives to fulfill its vision and mission, and to achieve its goals investing in the development of modern teaching methods, adapted to students’ needs and responsive to competitive labor market and society requirements, as well as in its modern facilities and infrastructure (i.e., teaching resources, classrooms, laboratories/workshops, scientific equipment).
Our University offers contemporary Undergraduate and Postgraduate study programmes, which give our graduates the opportunity to acquire specialized scientific knowledge, skills and competences, linking academia to both society and the labor market.
Research
UNIWA, in the context of its continuous evolvement, has developed significant re-search activity in all scientific fields served by its departments. The University’s research approach is interconnected with its educational mission and aims to enhance research through creative collaborations with universities, research centers and institutions at both national and international levels.The successful implementation of all research programs is based on draws upon the knowledge and experience of the scientific staff of the University supported by the available, modern infrastructure and equipment.

UNIWA offers advisory and career guidance services from specialized consultants; these services have been developed to provide substantial support and to assist students and graduates progress in their professional development.

Student services
In the context of providing more effective support to all undergraduate and post-graduate students, UNIWA offers a range of services aimed at enhancing the students’ personal communication with the university, supporting them in the management of their studies as well as in dealing with any academic/personal difficulty, providing them with counseling and guidance, and at the same time ensuring that any issues that may arise during their studies are successfully resolved.
Housing services
The University of West Attica does not have privately owned dormitories, that could ensure the free of charge accommodation to the students. However, the students are entitled to apply for free accommodation at the dormitory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, under condition that their brothers or sisters are already registered students of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and they already stay at the dormitories of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Library services
Students also have access to the central libraries of the Egaleo Park, Ancient Olive Grove and Athens campuses. All the libraries dispose of specialized staff and the appropriate facilities to support students in their study and research. The library website lists offered services and provides access to digital directories, online resources, online journals, and other scientific material.
Sports facilities
There are two gyms operating at the University of West Attica; one is placed at the Egaleo Park Campus and the other at the Ancient Olive Grove Campus, where stu-dents and staff of the University can be trained daily with exception of weekends. The rooms are fully equipped with fitness equipment while fitness staff guides and supervises any interested visitors.
