History
Institutum Geometrico-Hydrotechnicum, the legal predecessor of Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) was founded in 1782, and it was the first institute in Europe to train engineers at university level.
Education
Education, research, innovation and direct additional services are proceeded by the faculties. Work-sharing between the faculties are subject oriented both in the fields of education and that of technology. The organogram of BME is available here. The faculties consist of departments, institutes, research centres that are supported by deans offices and other units.
Governing is assisted by the Rectors Office and the Chancellors Office. There is a highly independent Group of integrated internal control.
Research
Research at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, another long-standing tradition, is highly encouraged and is present on all levels from the B.Sc. through to the doctoral level. The research is both individual and co-operative, scientific and industrial, national and international.During the 1980's the Budapest University of Technology and Economics was among the first in the "Eastern block" to recognise the importance of participating in research activities with institutions of higher education in Western Europe. Consequently, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics has some well-established research relationships with Western European universities.

In terms of accommodation I am Not satisfied. Insurance is not ok as well. Stipend is small to keep me up. Lack of English books to enhance my studies.

If you wish to rent an apartment we will provide you with an extra 40.000 HUF (approx. 125 EUR) in additional contribution to your accommodation expenses, apart from your scholarship, and the Mentor Team will be available to help contact apartment owners to translate for you.
