History
SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern is one of only two original hotel management schools in Switzerland. Founded in 1909, we have over one hundred years' of experience teaching students the fine art of Swiss hospitality and management. Immensely proud of our heritage, expertise and worldwide reputation, we continue to educate, accompany and form the hoteliers and managers of tomorrow.
Education
Offering English-taught Bachelor's (BSc in Hospitality) in partnership with HSLU and German-taught HF programs, focusing on hands-on learning, international perspectives, and developing future hospitality leaders through immersive internships, industry partners, and a diverse student body for global careers in hotels, gastronomy, and people-focused industries.

Housing services
Hotel SHL
- Located right next to the SHL Lakeview Campus, Hotel SHL offers around 80 single rooms with a communal lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large rooftop terrace to relax and enjoy the view.
- House Bellevue is not situated on the SHL Campus but located opposite the Hotel Hermitage and can be reached within 10 minutes by bus.
- Idyllically located by Lake Rotsee, House Klemens near the Klemens School offers a peaceful retreat.
- House Lindenstrasse comprises seven modern flats, each with either two or three bedrooms, a shared living area with a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom.
ICT services
The IT department answers all questions about connectivity, email, and printer setup and is also happy to help if problems occur with your personal device.
Campus life
The location of the SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern is perfect. Visitors entering and leaving SHL can enjoy the proximity to the city centre and the fantastic views of the lake and mountains. But it’s not just the location of SHL that is attractive: With its stylish design, the campus conveys a genuine hospitality ambience. The infrastructure includes state-of-the-art academic and practical training facilities as well as group rooms, retreats for self-study and lounge areas. The three F&B outlets offer students fresh and delicious food and drinks as well as excellent guest service.
