Research
Apart from the courses offered, one of the basic aims of the Ionian University is to support academic research and the production of knowledge. The University provides every means available for the promotion of these activities, either drawing on its own financial resources or using national and European funds.
The Operational Programme for Education and Initial Vocational Training (O.P. Education) for instance, finances the acquisition of specialised technical research equipment for libraries, laboratories etc., supports postgraduate programmes, as well as special lectures and seminars, thus opening new roads to original and at times truly innovative research.
