Agora University was co-founded in 2012 by Dr. Emmanuel Gergis and Rev. Fr. Michael Sorial as a venue for engaging the Oriental Orthodox Christian tradition and the Humanities. Its name recalls the Agora of Alexandria, near the ancient Library, a historic place of learning, dialogue, philosophy, and public thought.

Agora University supports students remotely through its Learning Management System, Populi, email, and online communication channels. Students may contact the appropriate office for admissions, registrar, academic, administrative, or technical support. Faculty and support staff are available during published office hours, and students can update their contact information through Populi.
Agora University is a fully online institution and does not own or operate student accommodation facilities. Students study remotely from their own location and are not required to relocate or attend a residential campus.
Virtual Librarian Agora University has an online Virtual Librarian available to students
All students will have access to Electronic Databases including ATLA Religion and Periodicals, ProQuest, Cengage and other digital resources.
Agora University delivers its programs online. Students use their own computer and internet connection to access courses, digital resources, and communication tools. Technical support is available remotely to assist students with platform access and related online learning needs.
