History
- Assumption University was initially originated from Assumption Commercial College in 1969 as an autonomous higher education institution under the name of Assumption School of Business.
- In 1972, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was officially established as "Assumption Business Administration College" or ABAC.
Education
- Assumption University, an International Catholic University, is committed to be the light that leads learners and its stakeholders from all parts of the world towards wisdom, Truth, and Christian values and to discover “Treasure Within” themselves.
- Via effective teaching and research pedagogies of international standards as well as community engagement, the University aims to form individuals to be intellectually competent, morally sound, and spiritually enriching, accountable, righteous, and service-minded citizens; excelling in serving communities comprising of diverse cultures.
Career
- Career Week is a project organized by Center for Career Development and Counseling.
- The objectives are to prepare students of all years into the working world and to create opportunities for graduating students to apply for jobs directly with employers. The Career Week has been held continuously for over 20 years.
- This project is organized twice a year after the mid-term. The project is an exhibition consisting of Job recruitment booths, Career testing booth, Career Counseling and Planning Booth.

A Fulfilling Academic Journey
Assiut University provided me with a fulfilling academic journey that left me with both positive impressions and some areas of improvement. Here's my review: Liked: 1. **Diverse Learning Opportunities**: Assiut University offers a wide range of academic programs, allowing students to explore their interests and choose the right path for their future. 2. **Quality Faculty**: The university boasts a team of dedicated and knowledgeable professors who are committed to helping students succeed. Their guidance and expertise greatly enhance the learning experience. 3. **Cultural Richness**: Assiut's location in Egypt provides a unique cultural experience. It's a place where history and modernity coexist, enriching students' understanding of the world. 4. **Campus Facilities**: The university has invested in modern facilities, including libraries, laboratories, and research centers, providing students with the resources they need to excel in their studies. Disliked: 1. **Administrative Challenges**: Like many institutions, Assiut University can sometimes be bogged down by bureaucratic processes, which may lead to administrative delays and frustrations. 2. **Infrastructure Maintenance**: While the campus is equipped with excellent facilities, there were times when the maintenance of these facilities could have been improved. Timely maintenance would enhance the overall experience. 3. **Class Sizes**: In some courses, particularly in popular majors, class sizes can be quite large, making it challenging to receive individualized attention from professors. Would I Recommend It? Overall, Assiut University provides a valuable educational experience, and I would recommend it to students seeking a diverse and enriching academic journey. The university's strengths in offering diverse programs and knowledgeable faculty make it a worthwhile choice. However, it's important to be prepared for administrative challenges and consider the size of the classes in your chosen major. If you can adapt to these challenges, Assiut University can offer a rewarding education and a unique cultural experience.
Constant system changes
Services could be a little bit better. The university is always changing systems, so it's hard to give a recommendation. I think options in the uni are a bit expensive as well regarding food and services
Balancing Academic challenge with support
Overall, my experience at the university has been positive, but there are a few areas that could be improved. One issues I noticied is that some professors seem to focus more on designing exams that differenctiate students rather than ensuring the subject is well explained and accessible to everyone. This isn't the case with all professors, but it does affect the learning experience. Additionally, I think the university would benefit from having more facilitiesd

Housing services
- Standard Students’ Accommodations (Dormitories)
- The Three Dormitories: King Solomon, Queen of Sheba & King David
- The three 13-story dormitories form a U-shape embracing the basketball grounds and the middle pyramid.
- The grounds, with rows of seats all round it, is called the King’s court. Named after characters in the Old Testament, the salubrious dorms have all modern facilities and an underground car park.
Library services
- Each Assumption University Campus maintains a large library with over 500,000 books and periodicals.
- In addition to the study facilities provided for students and instructors in the main libraries, there are reading areas in many other locations. These include the Catholic Education Council library and the Catholic library.
ICT services
- The Network, which spans across the Campus, is secure and reliable. The fast Ethernet Links and fiber optic cables allow students to cross geographical links in seconds.
- Voice and data communication between Hua Mak and Suvarnabhumi Campuses is available all day. The redundant gateways to the internet provide fault tolerance and reliability in case of Network Failures.
Medical services
- Assumption University provides health services on both Campuses. Students are responsible for making arrangements for their own health care except in case of emergency.
- Students, faculty and staff members with medical problems are encouraged to keep their files active at the Health Center regarding the nature of their problems so that appropriate action can be taken in the event of an emergency.
Sports facilities
- CSPF is resposible for encouraging all members of the AU community to access our sport facilities and use the equipments for physical development. Sports Facilities at Suvarmbhumi Campus include swimming pools, gymnasium and outdoor; and fitness gym at Hua Mak Campus.
- We have qualified management team who provide professional services to students with various sport lessons, trainings, and coaching for athletes. CSPF also organizes and participates in several actiities annually such as Thailand University Games, intramural and intervarsity competitions, sport team development and University athlete program.
Accreditation
- The University is fully accredited by MHESI (Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation) and ONESQA (Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment).
