History
Kochi University of Technology (KUT), established in 1997, was originally a private university. Founded by the Kochi prefectural government, KUT ambitiously set its sights in becoming a world class university through the pursuit of unique excellence.

Housing services
- The International House was established in October 2013 as multi-cultural on-campus accommodation for KUT students. International students can enjoy this living-learning environment to develop a better understanding of Japanese culture through daily life with Japanese students. Resident rooms (84 rooms), Communication hall, Tea-ceremony house, Common lounge, Laundry room, Building manager's office, etc.
- Dormitory Towers include: Resident rooms (238 rooms), Lounge, Laundry room, Rooms for part-time lecturers, Building manager's office, etc.
- Kami Dormitory is a new style student dormitory: individual rooms and a shared kitchen space, rather like a shared house.
Library services
The University Library and Academic Information Resources (UL-AIR) provides a library reading room, library stack room and multi-media learning rooms.
Campus life
Kochi Prefecture, located on the south side of the island of Shikoku, is a beautiful natural region.
Sports facilities
The General Gymnasium includes an arena, dressing rooms (locker rooms), a teacher's room, equipment storage rooms, etc.
Student clubs
Thanks to KUT's wide variety of sports-oriented and culture-oriented clubs, the students can enjoy a wealth of extracurricular activities.
