History

Jeju National University was founded in 1952 in Jeju City, South Korea, as Cheju Provincial Junior College. Cheju National University and the Jeju National University of Education merged to become Jeju National University in 2008.

Excellent learning experience in healthcare

My study experience was very positive and informative. I learned important concepts related to health systems and management. which helped me understand how healthcare organizations operate. The course improved my analytical and organizational skills and strengthened my interest in healthcare management. Overall, it was a valuable and motivating learning experience.

Housing services

  • The student dormitory provides on-campus accommodations as common residential and study space for both out-of-province domestic and foreign students.
  • The dormitory is a Green Campus complex with overviews of the Pacific and Mt. Halla, providing accommodations for more than 2,200 students.
  • Some dormitory units are built for the convenience of physically handicapped students each equipped with entrance hall, in-room closet, desk with bookshelf, and shoes rack, in addition to internet and WiFi access.
  • A computer laboratory, reading room, seminar hall, lounge, laundry room, shower room and kitchenette or special kitchen and dining set for foreign students are housed in the complex.

Library services

Currently, JNU Central Library has nearly 750,000 books, multimedia materials, degree theses, and domestic and international journals, and also offers various web-based electronic materials (such as Web DBs, e-Journals, e-Books and cyber learning centers) on its homepage.

ICT services

  • The Information & Telecommunications Center provides students with many web services. The Center enables laptop owners to access the Internet on campus using a wireless connection.
  • Jeju students also have easy internet access at the Information & Telecommunications Center, the University Service Center, the Career Center and the libraries, among other places.

Medical services

The Health Improvement Center was opened to promote the health of students, faculty members and staff. The center set up an exam room, treatment room, health improvement room, test room, consultation room and stabilization room to manage people’s health through health counseling, health exams and medical treatment.

Sports facilities

  • There are student clubs for sports such as tennis, skydiving, scuba diving, Kendo, bowling, table tennis, Taekwondo, Taekkyon (Korean martial arts), basketball, mountaineering, in-line skating.
  • To promote the healthy life of the tenants, well-equipped fitness, exercise and training rooms are available indoors in the student dormitories.

Student clubs

There are 70 student clubs, run by the students themselves:

  • Creative: art, calligraphy, photography, comics
  • Performance Arts: theater, singing, mask dancing, percussion, guitar, dancing, magic, ocarina
  • Community Oriented: teaching, volunteering
  • Academic: Jeju Studies, Studies on the Disabled, English, computers, tea ceremony, ham radio, bonsai
  • Religious: Buddhism, Catholicism, Christianity
  • International Students' Association: international students lead various activities including learning about Korean culture and participating in cultural exchanges
