Although the city of Rize achieved its university dream in 2006, the university history of this city dates back to the 1950s. Because the first step towards higher education in Rize is the opening of the two-year Technician School, which was established in 1950 under the Ministry of National Education.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan University was firstly founded under the name of Rize University by Law No. 5467, enacted on March 17, 2006 and then renamed as “Recep Tayyip Erdogan University” by Official Gazette No. 28261 on April 11, 2012.

In the department we analyse English novels, poems and journals. As long as I study my university courses, it makes me improve at my English skill.
Due to the city and location where the university is located, it is not a university where the student can develop himself sufficiently. In addition, despite the fact that there is no new university, a low-level student can easily enter, since the quota of most departments has not been filled. Most departments of the university do not provide compulsory internships. Therefore, the students themselves have to go in search of an internship. In this case, my opinion is that the university has more negative aspects than positive ones.
İt is not that good university, but ı am hungry to learn so that i love my department and programme.
