Research

The General Research Department, which is part of the Office of the Rector, is responsible for generating policies and strategies for the promotion and advancement of research in the University. The Department provides guidance, training and information to research groups for the development of their research lines and carries out the monitoring and evaluation of the various processes, projects and programs related to research. It provides the necessary information for the generation of quality and productivity indicators of its research groups.

Housing services

Universidad de La Sabana, through the Direction of University Welfare, has the Vivienda Sabana Program which is coordinated through University Solidarity which provides mainly non local students who have come to the University, a housing option during the academic year, where they can find a reliable, safe and with the appropriate accommodation conditions in the city of Bogotá and the surrounding municipalities of the University campus.

Library services

The Library Service of Universidad de La Sabana, comprised by the Octavio Arizmendi Posada and Studium Libraries, is located in the Campus Puente del Común in Chía Cundinamarca, Colombia. Two principles are the ones that inspire the Library staff: excellence in service and the suitable and updated arrangement of both physical and electronic resources for all users.

Campus life

Our extensive campus (78 hectares) is located in the town of Chía, which is located 20 minutes from the capital. La Universidad de La Sabana is part of a small group of institutions of higher education in Colombia with High Quality Institutional Accreditation.

Sports facilities

Universidad de La Sabana has 3ha. of sports facilities for practicing basketball, tennis, golf, sand volleyball, tennis football and rugby. The campus has extensive natural areas and is surrounded by a lake.

Students can also practice other sports and access the facilities of four different clubs, near the campus, that La Sabana has special agreements with.

We generate comprehensive training spaces as an essential and inherent part of college life.
We contribute to improving the lifequality of the person, considering his primary, socio-emotional, intellectual, artistic and cultural needs.
We promote the University delegation through its different groups in cultural exchange events

Accreditation

On March 31, 2017, the Ministry of Education of Colombia signed Resolution 06166, whereby the university was granted High Quality Institutional Accreditation renewal for eight (8) years.
On August 4, 2010, through Resolution No. 6700, La Sabana obtained High Quality Institutional Accreditation renewal until August 2016, which kept us within the small group of higher education institutions in the country with High Quality Accreditation.
To grant such accreditation, the Ministry of Education of Colombia relied on the recommendation given by the National Accreditation Council (CNA), following the report of the academic peer evaluators assigned.
