Earlier, the Institute was known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE). It was established in the year 1960 under the scheme sponsored by Govt. of India and Govt. of Maharashtra.

Building My Future in Artificial Intelligence
I am currently studying at Gopalan College of Engineering and Management in India, pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. My academic experience has been both challenging and rewarding, helping me build a strong technical foundation along with practical problem-solving skills. I particularly appreciate the opportunity to work on real-world projects such as a mental health analysis system and a machine learning-based prediction model, which enhanced my understanding of how technology can create meaningful impact. What I value most is the emphasis on hands-on learning, teamwork, and continuous improvement. These experiences have helped me become more confident, analytical, and motivated to pursue innovation in AI. However, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of industry exposure and access to advanced research resources. More collaborations with industry experts and updated lab facilities would further enhance student learning. Overall, my study experience has been highly enriching and has strengthened my goal of pursuing higher education in Artificial Intelligence to develop responsible and impactful solutions for society.
