History
Established in 18 August 1961, the University campus is situated on the western side of the old Brahmaputra river covering an area of 1200 acres, 3 kilometers away south of Mymensingh town.

Student services
Bangladesh Agricultural University has its own Students Welfare and Counseling center and it has been playing an important role for the welfare of the students through various activities. It is guided and supervised by Students Affair`s Adviser and was established in the middle of 1974.
Housing services
Students admitted to different Faculties of the University will reside in or be attached to a hall of residence. There are 13 halls of residence of which nine for male students and four for female students. The administration of a hall is headed by a Provost who is assisted by a number of House Tutors. Please note that the number of seats in the residential hall is limited.
Library services
BAU central library has a collection of over 1,84,942 volumes and 2,000 periodicals. The number of journals is 151. The library has copies of M.S and PhD theses. Besides the central library, the Faculty of Agricultural Economics & Rural Sociology has its own library which contains reference books and journals in the field of Agricultural Economics.
ICT services
The Information and Communication Technology Cell (ICT Cell) is committed to deploying, supporting and developing viable Information Communication Technology solutions and services that meet the challenges of teaching, learning, research and management needs of the University.
Medical services
BAU Health Care Center is a department of this University that deals with Health management of BAU students, teachers, Officeres, Employees and their family members. It is mainly an "out door" service center that works 363 days (except two Eid day) of the whole year, 24 hours in three shift (morning, evening and night).
Campus life
The campus, with an area of about 1200 acres is located in scenic rural surroundings on the western bank of the old Brahmaputra River, 5 km south from Mymensingh Railway Station and 120 km north from Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It also houses two national research institutes, namely, Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) and Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI).
Sports facilities
There is a gymnasium on campus for student use.
Student clubs
Co-Curricular and socio-cultural programs are being conducted at Teacher-Student Centre &ShilpacharyaZainul Abedin Auditorium under the guidance of the Students Affairs Division.
