History
Located in the middle of Transylvania with a tradition of 75 years of medical and pharmaceutical education, the University became academically stronger as a result of the merger, in 2018, with the "Petru Maior" University, another prestigious higher education institution in Târgu Mureş.
Education
The university has acquired a new configuration, currently carrying out, within its seven faculties, programmes at bachelor and master level, as well as doctoral and postgraduate programs of study in three different languages Romanian, Hungarian and English.

a good public university
The Moldova State University was an excellent choice for me. The campus is centrally located, which makes it easy to access various facilities, including modern libraries and laboratories. The academic programs are well-structured, and the professors are dedicated and willing to help. However, sometimes the resources available to students can be limited, which requires careful planning of activities. Despite this, student life is active, with many opportunities to get involved in clubs and societies. The cost of living in Chisinau is relatively low, which makes studying here very affordable. The university organizes various cultural and sporting events, which add value to the student experience.
Amazing
I began studying in september of 2022 and i must say the experience has been great. I have learned a lot of skills , like programming in c# and c++ , problem solving skills and designing in AutoCAD and many more. The teachers have been incredibly helpful along the way , giving me tips about every project i had contact with. Besides this , i was enroled in a student organization named ESTIEM , where i learned how to work as a team and learned some social skills along the way . Hoipefully this is enough to get you hooked on choosing this University.
Grandma (Old Outside, Youth Inside)
Considering that this faculty where I study was reunited with the second largest faculty in Romania, I consider that my needs are met. However, this faculty is a little outdated from a structural point of view from the outside which could bring a bad image, considering that inside are the newest laboratories and the most equipped by the biggest companies (Bosch, Hirschmann, etc. ).

The main objective of the Department of Counseling, Career Guidance and Informing Students (DCCGIS) is the pursuit of new opportunities for professional integration and the appropriate choice of a medical specialty/ career, through educational coaching, psychological counseling and career guidance for students at the University.
Housing services
Students may be accommodated in the university campus, in the student dormitories, in 2 types of rooms (depending on their availability): two students per room or four students per room.
Library services
The University Library houses over 340,000 publications, comprising a wide range of specialty documents: monographs, treatises, courses, practical courses, encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, doctoral dissertations, journals, newspapers, electronic documents.
ICT services
The Library offers the following services:
- issuing and renewing the library card
- loaning publications at home or into the study hall
- access into the study hall
- consulting the user in using the online catalogue and the online study platforms

Campus life
The University's main campus is located in Târgu Mureș, Romania. In 2019, UMFST opened another branch in Hamburg, Germany (University Targu Mures Medical Campus Hamburg / Universitätsmedizin Neumarkt am Mieresch Campus Hamburg).
