History
Hikoso Shutoujo (Hikoso Vaccination Center) established in 1862, when Kanazawa was still a part of the Kaga domain. It has gone through a great number of changes during these 140 years bringing political, economic and cultural progresses in the district. The history of the university is described briefly as follows.
Education
The mission of Kanazawa Medical University is: "to develop good doctors and nurses, to advance medical knowledge and skills, and to contribute to society."
Research
The KMU Medical Research Institute develops and supports research activities in various fields including collaborative clinical research. It seeks to provide optimal facilities for training health professionals in clinical and patient-oriented research and for applying new scientific knowledge to better understand and treat human illnesses.
