The Lebanese International University (LIU) was first founded as the Bekaa University under Presidential Decree No. 5294 in April 200. The name was later changed to the Lebanese International University (LIU), for the founders had a vision of making the university a true national university with a presence in all six administrative district which so comprise Lebanon.
The mission of the Lebanese International University is to provide accessible and affordable higher education in excellence and quality of first order. LIU will drive its students to be responsible citizens and life-long self-actuated learners. LIU will empower students to develop awareness and engage in cultural and environmental sustainability through maximized resources. LIU disseminates diverse learning experiences and skills in an environment that e-enable the dynamic interplay of teaching and research. LIU endeavours to align its values and commitments to student support and communication, and continually review curricula for innovative outcomes.

My experience at the Lebanese International University (LIU) has been positive and rewarding. I have enjoyed meeting students from different backgrounds and learning from supportive instructors. My time at the Lebanese International University was very fruitful. I am currently a senior student, and I can proudly say that my proficiency has improved throughout my courses.
LIU meets the needs of its students with a wide range of books at the LIU library. All academic books can be found along with reference books and volumes of all textbooks. Students can borrow a maximum number of 2 books at a time by presenting his or her ID. Each book should be returned within 2 weeks of the date borrowing date.
LIU has nine campuses at different locations in Lebanon: Bekaa, Beirut, Saida, Nabatieh, Mount Lebanon, Tripoli, Tyre, Rayak and Halba-Akkar. Each campus provides facilities that include but are not limited to laboratories, libraries, audio visual rooms, and so on. The Bekaa Campus is the ‘mother’ of LIU’s many Lebanon based campuses. It has a main cafeteria with more than 500 seating capacity, several shops and eateries, dormitories for both female and male students, and a wide range of recreational facilities including an Olympic-size pool, a football stadium, several green fields and parking areas.
LIU Beirut campus offers coaching and provides facilities for our LIU Eagles sports teams. Students can join the following teams: table tennis, chess, Thai boxing, mixed martial arts, basketball, futsal, volleyball and football. All our teams have a notorious reputation in the Lebanese university sports scene as they have maintained high rankings in most leagues and tournaments. LIU is proud and pleased to announce that it has obtained Institutional Accreditation for a period of 3 years from the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres), an official institution recognized in France for the evaluation and accreditation of various institutions of higher education in France, Europe and worldwide. This monumental achievement is a testament to the splendidly concerted efforts of faculty, staff and administration and LIU’s commitment to quality, integrity, accountability and sustainability.
