History
University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Malaysia's eighth university was officially incorporated on 24 December 1992.
With about 30 academic staff, the University opened its doors to the first batch of 118 students on 8 August 1993. The students were registered in the two pioneering faculties, the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology.

Research
UNIMAS Innovation endeavours to facilitate and support research, development and commercialization of research products among UNIMAS community. This consists of activities in engaging our researchers with the Malaysian Government Ministries, industries, research institutes, other universities and international institutions. UNIMAS Innovation also serves as administrative secretariat to UNIMAS Research and Services Committee (RSC), Research Expert Panels, Research Chair Steering Committee, and UNIMAS Conference Committee.

Overall is nice especially the staff and lecturer. They are patient and friendly. The equipments are good. Students also friendly and active. A lot of events are held every month. Im satisfied with the campus life. Not very stress and can learn from each others.
A Journey of Discipline
I really loved my stay in the university because it's a journey that only the disciplined can get to the finish line without delay most especially in my course of study Veterinary Medicine. My challenge is how to get use to the system and some financial needs that must be meet The lecturers are so tough on us so we can bring out the best in us Discipline is key and must be in our possession to arrive at success
