History
In 2015, a founding group of academics and business people came together to make this vision a reality.
Ontario’s Minister of Colleges and Universities granted final consent on December 4, 2020, making IBU the first homegrown independent university ever to be established in the province.

The curriculum combines foundational, management, and specialized knowledge and skills. This content is applied in real-world settings and integrated within a learning framework that is both rigorous and relevant.
By combining industry needs with rigorous academic preparation, our Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in International Management and Technology will provide a firm foundation for your success in a broad range of business-related fields. Some of the core business courses you’ll be taking include Introduction to International Business, Applied Economics, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Project Management, Advanced Data Analysis, and Global Strategy.

Student services
One of your professors will be assigned to you as your academic advisor. Your academic advisor can give you advice about your courses, program and graduation requirements, counsel you regarding study habits, tutor you as necessary and also provide information regarding future career options. You may meet with your academic advisor as often as necessary.”

Medical services
If you are experiencing health issues and do not have a family doctor, staff in Enrolment Services will provide you with the name of a local walk-in medical clinic. Enrolment Services can also suggest vision care, dental care, pharmacy, and counselling options available in the IBU neighbourhood.

Campus life
Our campus space is being designed to include large common room areas conducive to group discussions. Extra-curricular activities on campus will include seminars, conferences and workshops, involving faculty and partners from local and international business, as well as non profit and public sector organizations. These activities will be augmented by conferences drawing together scholars, businesspeople, and public policy experts to explore key challenges and emerging priorities in business today.
