History
1948 – The Faculty of Medicine separates from the University, becoming the ClujInstitute of Medicine and Pharmacy and including the following faculties:General Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Hygiene (until 1956) andPaediatrics (until 1989)1994 – The University is renamed to Iuliu Haţieganu University of Medicine andPharmacy2019 – 100 years of medical education in Romanian

Excellent Learning Environment
The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova offers a strong academic foundation for students pursuing careers in healthcare. The professors are highly knowledgeable and dedicated, providing valuable insights during both theoretical and practical classes. The facilities, particularly the anatomy labs and simulation centers, are well-equipped, ensuring students gain hands-on experience. However, there are areas that could improve. Administrative processes can sometimes be slow, and communication regarding schedules or exams could be clearer. Despite this, the university�s focus on academic excellence and its supportive learning environment make it a great choice for aspiring medical professionals. I would recommend UMFCV to students who are serious about their medical studies and willing to adapt to occasional organizational challenges.

USAMV Cluj-Napoca is ranked 5th in the country in the category Universities of advanced research and education. As a Highly Accredited University, USAMV Cluj-Napoca offers the title of Doctor of Science and a level 8 qualification from the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). USAMV Cluj-Napoca is accredited as an Organizing Institution of Doctoral Studies (IOSUD) with two doctoral schools: the Doctoral School of Veterinary Medicine and the Doctoral School of Agricultural Engineering Sciences. Each school conducts studies in different fields. In the field of agriculture, there are 5 laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art and innovative equipment for research and teaching activities. In this field there are competent teaching staff with a high reputation both nationally and internationally, which in turn ensures the scientific and ethical relevance and credibility of the research work.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova offered me the opportunity to study in a dynamic and well-structured academic environment. The Faculty of Medicine is noted for its courses that cover both theoretical and practical aspects, providing a solid foundation for future medical careers. I appreciated the support offered by the professors and the access to modern resources, which allow us to develop our clinical skills. Regarding student life, the university organizes various extracurricular activities that promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage involvement in community projects. These activities help us develop not only professionally, but also personally.

The staff of our teaching hospitals are a national landmark in healthcare, and are well-known and appreciated abroad, too. These teaching hospitals are specialist training excellence centres in research and healthcare. The teaching hospitals carry on the tradition of integrative medicine, able to respond to complex cases involving multiple specialisations.
Sports facilities
The University sports centre provides multiple options for leisure activities, and the Students' Restaurant on Victor Babeș street is highly appreciated by our students and our teaching sta.
Student clubs
Active in the Faculty's departments, they are training core teams for the students wishing to develop their research abilities. The results of the students' research were validated by the numerous prizes they received in national and international competitions. The 25 students' research groups cover numerous medical, surgical and laboratory subjects. Part of this groups is multidisciplinary, preparing the students' for the challenges of modern pathologies and an interdisciplinary approach of patient issues. MEDICALIS, the Medical Students' and Young Doctors' Congress, hosting numerous international participants is organised on an annual basis
