The split campus (UK and Malaysia) degree programmes offer the chance to gain a unique ‘Southampton’ education for the first two years in Malaysia combined with the final two years at a world-class research-centred university in the UK.

- Some graduates are working at Malaysian companies including MIMOS Malaysia, Telecom Malaysia and Malaysia Microelectronic Solutions. Some have become entrepreneurs and set up their own companies, including Tangoshark Pte Ltd Singapore and Numero Engineering Malaysia.

- There are options to live close to campuses or in the city centre, and affordable rooms to suit your budget and lifestyle. Some postgraduate options are also offered.
- Each hall is divided into flats, with single-occupancy bedrooms sharing a communal kitchen area. Our halls also have areas for socialising and laundry, and some have gyms and leisure facilities too.
- Different types of rooms are offered in the 8 halls of residence. You can apply for 3 to 5 room choices. In 2019, 96% of students got their first or second accommodation choice.
Campus life
The Malaysia Campus is located in the state of Johor near the southwestern tip of Malaysia, about four hours' drive south of Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur.
Sports facilities
- You'll find a variety of sport, fitness and gym facilities on Highfield and Avenue campuses, as well as many of our halls of residence.
- Team Southampton is proud to have 90 sports teams competing at national level, in everything from netball to quidditch. You can also join a wide variety of clubs and societies for martial arts, dance, watersports and more.
- Blessed with both coast and river, we have 3 watersports centres with a wide variety of boats, yachts and equipment. Whether you're a beginner or a professional, you'll be able to sail, windsurf, kayak and powerboat at a level that's right for you.
Student clubs
The Students' Union (SUSU) sits at the heart of campus life. It's run by students, for students. The main SUSU building sits on Highfield Campus, but the union has social spaces, services and events across our campuses.
