History
Since its establishment in 1949, the College of Performing Arts has had a demanding position: in a difficult period after the Second World War, to provide a sufficient number of qualitative creative workers for exceptionally fast-growing cultural institutions, theater and specter scenes, musical ensembles, radio.

Promotional video
Excellent I really liked how interactive and engaging the learning process was. The use of real-life design tasks, such as creating posters, catalogues, and branding materials, made the course feel practical and exciting. I also appreciated the chance to use professional tools and software, which gave me a strong foundation for the industry.
Housing services
The Academy of Performing Arts does not possess or manage a dormitory. Students accepted for studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava cannot automatically claim accommodation. The Academy is dealing with the situation.
Library services
The Academy Library of the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) is a scientific-informational, bibliographic, coordination, advisory and educational department of VŠMU.
The Academic Library serves the function of an library specialized in the field of artistic practice, history and theory of music, dance, theater, film arts and intermedia.
ICT services
The Academy of Performing Arts uses the Academic Information System which is designed for registration and management of all procedures/activities connected with the studies. The student can find information about the timetables, study programmes, study plans/curricula, dates of exams, study programmes evaluation in the AIS and he/she can (should) continuously check his/her study obligations.
Medical services
If necessary students of the Academy of Performing Arts can apply for registration in the general practitioner´s clinic – doctor Silvia Sýkorová, who continuously accepts new patients.
Campus life
The Academy of Performing Arts currently operates at five different addresses within Bratislava’s Old Town. Most school activities take place within the area bounded by Zochova, Pilárikova, and Svoradova streets.
