History
Poznan School of Logistics (WSL), the first logistics institution of higher education in Poland was founded in 2001 by the Centre for Logistics Education (CEL) and the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing.
Education
WSL runs first cycle studies, where students can choose to either pursue a Bachelor’s Degree or an Engineer’s Degree, and second cycle studies, where students pursue a Master’s Degree. The School also offers postgraduate studies. Polish is the official language of instruction, although students can choose a certain number of courses held in a foreign language.
Research
WSL attaches a lot of importance to research which is conducted on two levels: cognitive and didactic. The former is related to expanding knowledge and providing the business world with new tools and technological solutions in what is broadly understood as logistics.
The latter concerns teaching processes and is closely related with the development of teaching and research methods within logistics studies.
The main areas of research include:
- corporate management and supply chain management,
- logistic networks and systems,
- corporate strategies and problems of world economy,
- management of national material resources
- logistics education.
Career
The Careers Office of WSL helps students to establish contacts with the business world. It also offers support and advice concerning the start of their professional career:
- it helps the students and graduates of WSL to enter the labour market by offering career counseling, by organizing workshops and training sessions;
- it runs a database of job-seeking students;
- it assists in contacts with potential employers;
- it provides information about the labour market;
- it publishes job advertisements;
- it provides publications which help to write relevant documents;
- it provides legal acts related to employment;
- it co-operates with companies offering trainee schemes and work placements for the students of WSL .

Students have a modern library at their disposal. Its book collection comprises specialist books, professional journals, as well as computer programmes and video recordings. Students also have access to the book collection of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, as well as to the library databases available on the Net.

The campus consists of a complex of very modern buildings situated in the centre of Poznan.

At WSL, there is room for activity for anyone who has innovative ideas, organizational skills, for anyone who wishes to become involved in the everyday life of WSL, or for anyone who just wishes to broaden their knowledge. One can pursue one’s passions by taking part in the works of WSL’s Student Self-Government, by joining WSL’s student interest groups, WSL’s Sports Fan Club, or one of School’s numerous varsity sports teams associated in the Academic Sports Association (AZS).
