Since first opening its doors in 1948, Nicholls has been the only university serving the Bayou Region.

"Harvard on the Bayou" as we call it :)
I really enjoyed studying at this university, I kind of just wish we had more resources for discovering what major is your best fit, as well as, internship/research experiences.

Welcome to the Nicholls Post Office information guide. Our purpose is to provide quality and efficient postal services to Nicholls students, faculty and staff.
Nicholls State University’s Post Office is a contract postal unit of the United States Postal Service and is located in the Donald G. Bollinger Student Union. We provide students, faculty and staff with the information needed to process their incoming and outgoing mail in the most timely and cost effective service available.
Housing services
Housing Requirements:
- All full-time undergraduate students at Nicholls State University are required to live on campus unless they meet certain exemption requirements.
- A Housing & Food Service Contract is for one full academic year (Fall & Spring), not just one semester.
- To register for housing or to request an exemption please visit the Housing Portal and click on “application”, the first question will ask if you want to apply for housing or complete an exemption request.
- Make your selection and follow the prompts from there.
- Applications to live on campus require a $250 deposit (a $50 non-refundable application fee and $200 security deposit).
Library services
Ellender Memorial Library is now open. Students and faculty can book virtual research appointments via chat, text, or email.
Medical services
UHS offers quality healthcare for all currently enrolled students and staff. You can visit UHS for acute health problems, medical information, and injuries–just as you would your doctor’s office. A nurse is also available during UHS hours.
Campus life
Campus Recreation strives to enhance the development and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle through fitness and wellness, intramural sports and activities.
Sports facilities
- The cardio room is equipped with 42 pieces of Precor cardio equipment including treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and AMTs. Each machine has a P80 Console that has a 15 inch LCD Touch Screen.
- There are two fitness studios within the Harold J. Callais Memorial Recreation Center. The larger of the two studios has the capability to be partitioned off to make it into two smaller studios.
- The indoor track is located on the 2nd level of the Harold J. Callais Memorial Recreation Center which gives a bird’s eye view of the strength room and Michael Childs Gymnasium.
- The Michael Childs Gymnasium includes two multipurpose courts for free play and intramural competition.
