History
Vietnam National University of Agriculture dates back to the founding of the University of Agriculture and Forestry on October 12, 1956. Since its foundation, the University has been renamed several times with hardships and achievements, all the while striving to advance excellence in teaching and research.
Education
VNUA has 38 Undergraduate Training Programs, 34 Master Training Programs, and 17 Doctoral Training Programs. In addition to the traditional fields of study related to agriculture, VNUA has developed new training programs in other fields in its trend towards a multi-disciplinary university. Of particular note, the University has developed several advanced training programs and joint training programs with foreign partners.
Research
The University has four Research Institutes: Agro-Biology, Crop Research and Development, Economics and Development, and Engineering Research and Training. The University has 22 Centers for Research and Services, 1 publishing house, and 2 company (Ltd.) that functions primarily to transfer technical advances to meet societal demands.

Housing services
VNUA has a separate dormitory for international students managed by the International Cooperation Office. It offers single or share rooms (three to four persons). The monthly payment for a room varies from $US 150 to $US 300 by types of room (single or shared) and facilities (with or without air-conditioner). Rooms are furnished and have wireless connectivity. Students share quiet reading and study spaces within the building (a meeting room in the first floor). There are kitchens with refrigeratoron every level so students can cook their own meals. If students don’t want to cook, they can find the varied food outlets on campus.
Library services
Luong Dinh Cua Library and Information Center of Vietnam National University of Agriculture is a library for specific. It was founded in 1956 with the name of Agro-Forestry University library. The first material capital is inherited from Co-operative Management College’s library and University for Agriculture.
Campus life
Vietnam National University of Agriculture is located in Trau Quy township, Gia Lam district, Hanoi, capital of Vietnam. Situated on a campus of nearly 200 ha, the university has a system of modern lecture halls, experimental and practical facilities, spacious dormitories, a modern library system, a large gymnastic and sports complex, and many other crucial teaching, learning and research facilities.
