The University traditions date back to 1944, when the first four Faculties were created at the recently established Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin: Medical, Life Sciences, Agricultural and Veterinary. Among the sequentially-formed faculties, in 1953 the Department of Animal Husbandry began its operations.
The University of Life Sciences in Lublin conforms to the principles of the Bologna Process and provides education in each of the three stages of study. It also conducts postgraduate and refresher courses.
There are more than 10 thousand students in full-time and part-time studies of the first and second cycle of studies as well as comprehensive master’s studies. The educational offer includes several courses and specializations. The number of university graduates has exceeded 60 thousand.
Research, which is conducted, by scientific institutions at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin in the laboratories, clinics, experimental and private farms represents a valuable contribution to the development of agricultural and veterinary sciences. Numerous publications in reputable national and international scientific journals reflect the value of scientific achievements. Expanded cooperation with the business sector (manufacturing plants, meat processing plants, sugar refineries, breweries, etc.) results in a large number of reported and obtained patents, utility models and implementations.

I really enjoy my course and the modules that we study; the lectures and my professors are very professional and supportive. I really like my current accommodation at the dormitory; it's safe, spacious and a great location on campus. I wish I could stay here for the entire duration of the studies.
As a parent of a daughter studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, I can say that we are extremely satisfied with this programme. My daughter has grown not only academically, but also personally, thanks to the supportive learning environment and the motivation she receives from her teachers. The university also offers a friendly atmosphere, and Lublin itself is a very good city for students, safe, welcoming, and full of academic life. I would definitely recommend this university and this programme to future students who are passionate about veterinary medicine. It is an excellent place to study, develop professional skills, and prepare for a meaningful career.
