History
Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction began its activity in 1920 with the faculty of civil engineering at the Baku Polytechnic Institute. In different years, construction specialists were trained at Baku Polytechnic, Azerbaijan Oil, and later at the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute.
Education
At present, the University with a total area of 49,000 m2 consists of 8 faculties, a Construction College and a technical lyceum located in 5 educational buildings. 7036 students study at the university, 620 students from 14 countries study at the faculty of education of foreign citizens, teaching is conducted in 3 languages - Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
Research
The main research areas are: Architecture , Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences.
The main purpose of the research is to study the current problems of architecture, construction mechanics, construction and road machinery, information technology, as well as other fields of science and to make recommendations on the application of their results in production and education.

Student services
The Student Youth Organization of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction has been operating in accordance with the "Regulations of Student-Youth Organizations operating in higher and secondary special education institutions" since its establishment.
The main purpose of the organization is to represent and protect the interests of students and each student individually in the implementation of state youth policy, to ensure their active participation in the socio-political, cultural, social and economic life of the republic.
Housing services
The university consists of 5 educational buildings with a total area of 49,000 m2. Many departments are equipped with modern equipment, computers, teaching and research laboratories.
The university has a campus. There is a separate 9-storey dormitory building for foreign students and a commercial "Damla" building on campus.
Students can not only prepare for classes here, but also spend their free time effectively. There is a chess club, sports grounds and student cafes for this purpose.
Library services
The Library of AzAU was established in 1977. Currently, the fund has 547,285 copies of literature, magazines and abstracts. The main task of the library fund is to assist professors and students in teaching and research activities. The quality of the fund's materials meets the requirements for the training of specialists in accordance with the profile of the university.
Campus life
Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction is located in Baku. Teaching is conducted in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. Founded in 1975, the university has 5 educational buildings and a campus with a total area of 49,000 square meters. There is a Construction College and a technical lyceum at the university.
Sports facilities
The Department of Physical Education and Sports has been operating since 1977. According to the calendar plan approved by the Ministry of Education, Youth Sports and Tourism, Republican Trade Union and Youth Student Sports Society, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, judo, volleyball, table tennis, chess, handball, basketball, checkers, checkers, checkers, athletics, football, futsal, etc. It holds Universiades in sports every two years and championships every year. Since the beginning of the department's activities, various sports teams of our University have participated in both city and national and international competitions and won various awards.
Student clubs
On June 3, 2005, the Student Youth Organization was established at our university. In order to regulate the activities of student youth organizations, on May 6-7, 2005 the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism (now the Ministry of Youth and Sports) and the Ministry of Education approved the "Regulations of Student-Youth Organizations operating in higher and secondary special education institutions". In 2007, the Regulations were revised and approved by both ministries and distributed to higher and secondary vocational education institutions.
