Lublin University of Technology was established as Evening Engineering School in May 1953 on initiative of Lublin technical societies.



Lublin University of Technology was established as Evening Engineering School in May 1953 on initiative of Lublin technical societies.

The first faculty, which began its activity in 1953, was Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. 

In 1963/64 Electrical Engineering Faculty was established and in 1964 specialisation of Industry Electrical Engineering was added to it.

    Student services

    Help Desk is situated at the library in the Building of Centre for Innovation and Advanced Technologies and  is open Mondays –Fridays: from 11am to 4pm.

    Housing services

    LUT offers accommodation in Students’ Dormitories. Due to the big number of students at LUT, the university offers triple rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen on the floor.

    Library services

    Lublin Technical University Library supports researchers and students in their scientific enterprises by collecting scientific literature, managing and facilitating access to it.

    There are traditional library items like: about 180 000 books, journals [current items of almost 175 polish titles and 18 foreign titles], resources in the field of standarisation, patents and building approvals.

    ICT services

    LUT has a wide range of computer facilities available to all students. All the University's micros are linked into the main computer system.

    The students who have already handed in the certificates of arrival to International Exchange Office may receive their eduroam passwords and logins at IEO.

    Medical services

    All foreign students are obliged to take out health insurance for the period of time they will spend in the country. It can be either a private insurance policy obtained in their country of origin or in Poland.

    The lack of health insurance may result in an obligation to cover the full costs of healthcare services in the case of illness or the necessity to receive immediate medical help.

    At present, there are six Faculties of the Lublin University of Technology:

    Sports facilities

    From doing sports to clubbing and sunbathing on a beach, Lublin offers an abundance of possibilities to relax actively or simply chill out. There is a great variety of sport clubs, swimming pools, green and recreational zones, games rooms, workshops, pubs, nightclubs and numerous other institutions and facilities which will help you  never get bored in Lublin.

    Since 1999, as the Accredited Examination Centre of LCCI IQ from EDI (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Qualifications from Education Development International), we have been providing professional English examinations.

    In 2013 DFL became the first Accredited Examination Centre of MONDIALE Testing in Poland obtaining rights to run MONDIALE Technical English examinations.

    Since 2006, as the Accredited Examination Centre of ETS (Educational Testing Service, Princeton, USA), we have been conducting the following certification examinations:

    • English: TOEFL®, TOEFL® Junior, TOEIC® Listening and Reading, TOEIC® Speaking and Writing, TOEIC Bridge TM,
    • German: WiDaF®, WiDaF Basic®
    • French: TFI TM.

    I feel there like home. I know well the teachers and I like to spend time with them. Unfortunately some of teachers have low level of knowledge. Anyway I have plenty of opportunities to improve myself.
