History
· The history of the Medical University of Bialystok is a continuation of the 18th century tradition of practising medicine and public health care in Bialystok.
· The university was officially founded in 1950 as the tenth Doctors Academy in Poland and it was soon renamed Medical Academy.
· Branicki Palace became the main seat of the newly established institution.
Education
· MUB is a modern, rapidly growing public university, with a mission to provide the best possible education for professional, leading-edge medical staff.
· Staff employed at MUB are experts in their respective fields of science, members of science committees, journal editors, holding the positions of national and regional consultants.
· MUB offers in particular: Medical Analytics, Biostatistics, Dietetics, Electroradiology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Cosmetology, Medicine, Dentistry, Speech Therapy with Phonoaudiology, Nursing, Midwifery, Emergency Medicine, Dental Technology, Dental Hygiene and Public Health&Epidemiology, as well as doctoral and postgraduate programmes.
Research
· MUB is a precursor and leader in innovative large-scale research, focused primarily on innovative technologies associated with development of artificial intelligence in medicine, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, radiomics, and bioinformatics.
· MUB opened the first Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Centre in this part of Europe, generating superior and comprehensive databases from patients suffering from lifestyle diseases.
· MUB is the leader in quality biobanking of biological material obtained from lifestyle disease patients. MUB is conducting population studies as well, singular in this part of Europe, covering 10k inhabitants of Bialystok (the Bialystok Plus project).
Career
· University graduates are prepared to work with the patient, for the sake of his good and respect for universal ethical principles, but also as future employees of science exploring the secrets of knowledge, which they can use in practice.

Housing services
*On campus accommodation for students who are non-residents of Bialystok is available in two dormitories
*Highly quality, furnished, single rooms are available for English Division students, with high-speed internet and telephone access available for a monthly fee
*Each dormitory floor also contains a spacious common area, kitchen, and laundry facilities. Additionally, several other amenities such as a recreation room, copy center, convenience store, and tv room are available for residents
*Another distinct advantage of the dormitories is their close location to picturesque Branicki park, the Philharmonic Hall, cinemas, athletic facilities, shopping centres, restaurants and clubs all within walking distance.
Library services
*Currently, the Library’s collection consists of nearly 130 000 books, over 50 000 journals and 8 000 inventory units from special collections.
*Apart from the printed resources, the Library provides access to many bibliographic and full text databases, including 15 000 electronic journals.
Medical services
*There are two university hospitals in the immediate vicinity of the academic buildings.
*Additionally, students have a possibility to visit a doctor in the Dormitory No 1., which is located in the middle of the campus.
*Students currently enrolled at the Medical University of Bialystok, who have valid health insurance, can seek medical assistance in English language from two clinics.
Campus life
*The headquarters of the University is in the eighteenth-century Baroque Palace, called the Versailles of the North and located in the city centre. Close to the University buildings students may visit numerous points of interest, among others, shops, restaurants, clubs.
*University campus, educational buildings, two clinical hospitals, student dormitories and sports facilities are in a very short distance.
Sports facilities
- There is the Department of Physical Education and Sport at the Medical University of Bialystok that helps students stay fit, keep their bodies healthy, teach mental toughness and shape personality.
- The Department holds different practices like volleyball, basketball, football, athletics sports and swimming for men and woman students at every day of the week.
- In addition, Bialystok has many indoor and outdoor activities to offer including, swimming pools, ice skating ring, athletic fields, miles long biking track all over the city.
