August 17, 1999 is a painful history of great losses both for our country and our university. This great destruction caused by the Marmara earthquake caused 75% of our university to disappear, but with its own power, our University quickly relieved itself and reached today’s modern and fully developed campus.

My study experience has been a transformative journey of resilience. Mastering complex engineering simulations while navigating an Erasmus year in Sofia bridged the gap between theory and global practice. Despite bureaucratic hurdles, these "steady steps" through internships and leadership roles have forged a technically grounded, adaptable professional ready for any challenge.
The university and the ELT program have strong academic staff who are always eager to help you through your career and life. Kocaeli is a diverse and lively city where you can find lots of career and internship opportunities in each field. However, course selection system should be improved and students should be able to attend classes from various faculties according to their interests and needs. Because of my credits shortage in some courses such as statistics and research methods, I could not get accepted directly to the master's program that I applied.
I can say that I studied at a faculty with very successful academics. Although there are positive aspects that they are experts in their field and people who take their job seriously, I can say that they see it as their duty to realize whatever difficulties prevent students from graduating and starting their business life. Their behaviors are cruel, far from understanding, and more than teaching, they have behaviors that lead to distancing from this profession and life.
