Preparing for your career

Overall, I was satisfied with my experience studying IBEB at Erasmus. I believe it gave me the neccesary skills to prepare for the Dutch job market and gave me sufficient depth in knowledge and skills.

Academic excellence and character

It was an exciting, thrilling and stressful journey. There were some courses that were either under taught , or not useful because they were outdated. I loved the people I met during school, the drive to do better, and the opportunities they came by, I am a chartered accountant, and I got to start my ICAN journey quite on time because of a tutorial master who I met in school. It was quite a journey, I had no time for anything other than my books, which was a very good thing, I'm what I am today because of the path I chose and the opportunities that I got. However if my lecturers knew better I would be a lot ahead, they didn't talk to us, or advice us on things to do to make our career better , we had no internships, and here I am with little to no real world experience. My experience was great, but could have been better

Student services

Student Counsellors are the central point of contact for an EUC student or staff member who wishes to discuss students’ personal circumstances, functional disabilities and related study skills and planning. Student Counsellors offer confidentiality and refer to other services as required.  A student counsellor is dedicated to each new class of students, which means that you will have the same Student Counsellor throughout your academic career at EUC. Every student has the opportunity to meet with their Student Counsellor by booking an appointment via intranet or attending open hours.

Housing services

Erasmus University College (EUC) requires its students to live in the LUCIA residence in the city centre during their first year of studies. Living together with your fellow students provides an excellent opportunity to get to know each other well and to build solid friendships.

Considering studying at EUC requires a lot of group-work, living together also makes it easier to plan these group meetings and generally enhances the overall academic community, which is essential to our philosophy of what makes a great university college. Additionally, living on campus has the benefit of allowing you to immediately focus on your studies considering your housing is already arranged for you.

Library services

The University Library has an extensive collection of books and journals on every subject that is taught at the Erasmus University. The library also supports students and staff in various aspects of their education, teaching and research. Moreover, the library is a nice place to meet, work together and study in silence.

Medical services

In our experience most foreign insurances do not sufficiently cover medical expenses in the Netherlands (e.g. due to the relatively high costs for medical care in the Netherlands), and an extra insurance package is required. Check this carefully!

Campus life

  • Nestled in the heart of Rotterdam, Erasmus University College (EUC) finds its home in a magnificently restored former library, dating back to 1923.
  • Completely renovated in 2011, the EUC building seamlessly blends historic charm with cutting-edge amenities. Inside, you'll find excellent study facilities, including open space study areas, 19 purpose-built, high-tech tutorial rooms, and a well-equipped library.
  • Convenience is at your doorstep. EUC is located near various iconic spots, such as the market area, Pannekoekstraat with cosy cafes, Markthal, and Meent shopping district. For first-year students, LUCIA, the residential campus, is just a short bike ride away.

Sports facilities

The Erasmus Sports Centre, located on the Woudestein campus of Erasmus University Rotterdam, offers over 50 sports, available on all levels. The Center organizes sport events, tournaments, and internal competitions, personal training and body fit courses run by certified trainers. The Sport Center is open 7 days per week.

Student clubs

  • The Erasmus University College Student Association (EUCSA)

The EUCSA is the central organization overseeing various committees that curate events for the community, such as the introduction week. During this week, incoming students get to know the program, city, and their peers.

EUCSA offers diverse committees like Film & Photography, Charity, Music, or Queer Collective. They provide an amazing opportunity to develop skills within areas you’re passionate about.

These committees provide an amazing opportunity to develop skills within areas you're passionate about.

  • The Student Academic Affairs Council (SAAC)

The SAAC represents student academic interests and organizes events for professional development and academic guidance at EUC.
