Founded in 1918 as a faculty of agriculture and forestry at the Perm State University it became independent Ural Agricultural Institute in 1930 and awarded full academy status in 1995. The Academy is named after a famous scientist of agrochemistry D.N. Prianishnikov. Nowadays the Perm State Agricultural Academy is an innovative institution with an emphasis on education and research.

The Academy offers students a fantastic experience both on and off campus. The Student’s Union plays a key part in student life on campus, welcoming all students and supporting them through their time at the Academy, representing students at local and national level, supporting them in their studies and simply offering a place to socialize.
The Student’s Union has a large number of societies, catering for most cultural, political, sporting, intellectual and social tastes. Students are encouraged to participate in activities outside the curricular commitments in order to broaden the educational base, to gain achievement in other fields, and to stimulate interest in a range of enjoyable activities. The extra curricular activities will not only give a chance to relax away from the studies but, more importantly, give time to socialize and make friends with students from other countries and cultures.
