Quebec Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management

The Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) was founded in 1968 by the Government of Quebec. With more than 15,000 graduates, it has been the leading Canadian centre for specialized tourism, hospitality, food service and sommelier training for more than 50 years.

The ITHQ is not a school like any other. It is the only school in Canada to offer vocational, technical, and university programs all under one roof. 

Most of our programs are enhanced by internships and educational content that go beyond the requirements of the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur. Our students see and do more and have a big leg up when it comes to standing out in the industry.

Innovation at the service of the industry and the next generation

The ITHQ has 2 specialized research units, ExperiSens and the GastronomiQc Lab, which contribute to the evolution of practices in the customer experience and the Québec gastronomy fields.

ExperiSens :  

The ITHQ’s college centre for the transfer of technology (CCTT), ExperiSens assists and guides companies in the development of innovative practices to optimize the experience of their customers and staff.

GastronomiQc Lab :

A joint initiative of Université Laval and the ITHQ, the GastronomiQc Lab carries out research, training and knowledge transfer activities to support the innovation and the outreach of Québec gastronomy.
