History
Honghe University (HU) can be dated back to 1978, with the former name of Mengzi Normal College. In April 2003, approved by the Ministry of Education, Mengzi Normal College and Yunnan Radio&Television University Honghe Campus were combined to form Honghe University.
Education
“Innovation, Excellence, Harmony” are the basic concept of the university management. HU never restricts itself within the local area but pursues a broader vision with an honest attitude and practical spirit. Based on Honghe Prefecture, HU strides to make better contribution to Yunnan Province and even spread its effect to South and Southeast Asia.
Research
Aiming at cultivating application-oriented talents for the development of regional economy and society, HU sticks to “local, national and international” developing strategy. As one of the nearest universities to the border line in southwest China , HU is currently exploring a new field of higher education by making full use of its geographical advantage.
