History
The University was founded as the World Vocational School of Journalism. The outer circle in the school’s insignia represents the “world”, symbolizing its aspiration to move as one with the world.A writing implement is a necessary tool for a journalist, and the school’s founder Mr. She-wo Cheng made his pen an instrument for justice throughout his lifetime.
Education
The University has an undergraduate day program, an undergraduate night program, along with master's and doctoral programs. To meet the needs of people who are already working but wish to continue their education, the University offers continuing education programs leading to bachelor, master's, and doctoral degrees, along with a special undergraduate program for graduates of three-year vocational colleges.

Housing services
Shih Hsin University provides international students on-campus accommodation for their first-year study in the school. International students still can get full accommodation support after their first-year programs have finished. We hope all students could make most of their time at the University.
Library services
Shih Hsin University Library has a wealth of collection resources. One of the exceptional collections is Zeng Yongyi’s special collection, an academician of Academia Sinica and a professor of Shih Hsin University. The special collections of the Library focus on the fields of information design, political science and social movement, integrity, and other related books in Taiwan history.
