The Technical University of Cartagena is simultaneously a city and a campus University. Many buildings of the University played an important role in the 18th century, as they were used as naval hospitals, prisons, barracks or as marine schools. All buildings were completely renewed and restored.
The mentorship program was developed by our International Office in cooperation with our students. The mission of the program is to support our new students, by giving them a helping hand at the beginning of their studies. It is a great opportunity for our exchange students to enhance their academic experience at the UPCT.
The International Office is responsible to take care of all international matters, such as:
The UPCT comprises a well-stocked library measuring approximately 3600 qm², with 665 places to study.
At our library you will find three fully equipped computer rooms, where most of the practical classes and the preparation of final projects take place.
Located close to the campus you will find two different dormitories.
Together with the ISIC Association and British Council IELTS, Studyportals offers you the chance to receive up to £10000 to expand your horizon and study abroad. We want to ultimately encourage you to study abroad in order to experience and explore new countries, cultures and languages.
I recommend this city and University.
On the one hand, it´s a small university if you compare it with another, that is you can know your classmates and teachers. But on the other hand, Cartagena also is small since it is not capital so there are less activities for the universitary experience. Anyway, UPCT is a prestigious university from Spain if we speak about engineering.
Spanis universities are not on the top of Europe, everybody knows that, but in this case is still worst. Old proffesors, who do not care about their students, old instalations, small libraries, inefficient staff and all of these in a non student-friendly city. There is some good proffesionals in ther but they are not te most.
