History
The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje is the first state University in the Republic of Macedonia, founded in 1949. The University represents a functional community of 23 faculties, 5 research institutes, 4 public scientific institutions - associate members, 1 associate member - other higher education institution and 7 associate members - other organizations.
Education
The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University develops study programmes in all scientific fields – natural sciences and mathematics, technical and technological sciences, medical sciences and health, biotechnical sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts. Except for the faculties, the research work, also is carried out in the independent research institutes as an integral part of the University.
Research
The scientific and research activities of the University are based on the principles established in the National Program for scientific and research activities of R. Macedonia. Considering the diversity of the scientific areas, UKIM has no (and cannot have) a single program for scientific and research activities, and these activities are encouraged and initiated by the units themselves. The University supports research activities ranging from the development of the field of education, as well as the initiative of the academic staff and researchers

my personal experience
I am currently a student at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, the campus is amazing there are a lot of opportunities for everyone and things you can learn. The people are friendly and the staff organizes a lot of events for students so they can be more educated

Overall I had a bad experience, that is why I wish to study abroad. I feel like I didn't learn as much as I expected to learn. We were a small group of students and even with 5 people, there wasn't a real connection with the material. My other choice was a private university, so I opted for the public one. I've had many know-hows and opportunities throughout the years but they were only pushed through by myself, not my professors, faculty or university.

Student clubs
Students as main participants in the teaching and educational process are involved in all forms of managing through the Student’s Parliament of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. The Student’s Parliament is an organization comprising students’ representatives standing for their interests, requests and proposals. Representatives of the students’ parliaments of the faculties, that are simultaneously its bodies, are members of the University Student’s Parliament.
Accreditation
Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. All study programs in all the three cycles of studies (536) are adapted to the Bologna process, harmonized with the Law on Higher Education of the Republic of North Macedonia. They are continuously accredited and re-accredited by the Board for Accreditation and Evaluation.
