Education

The effects on the larger society of the resulting favorable terms of trade monetized a hitherto barter economy, leading to phenomenal public sector growth. That growth resulted in higher demand in the public sector for managerial and technical labor. Further, the need for capacity in the technical positions established in the new sectors caused the Liberian Government to appreciate the need for higher education through a national university

The pros and cons of Cuttington University

Cuttington University, established in 1889, is one of Liberia's oldest and most respected institutions of higher education. Located in Suakoko, Bong County, it offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, particularly known for its emphasis on liberal arts and sciences. The university's serene campus environment far from the noisy towns fosters academic and personal growth, making it a popular choice among students. The faculty is generally well-regarded, contributing to a supportive learning atmosphere. Cuttington University also emphasizes community service and leadership, encouraging students to engage with local and national issues. However, like many institutions in the region, it faces challenges such as resource limitations and infrastructure development. Cuttington University remains a vital part of Liberia's educational landscape, providing opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and skills that are essential for the country's development.
