The American University of Afghanistan is dedicated to providing world class higher education that prepares leaders to meet the needs of Afghanistan and the region.
Career
The Office of Student Affairs provides assistance for students in their career choices and finding part-time jobs and internship positions while in school, and full-time positions upon graduation. The Office of Career Services, working under the Student Affairs umbrella, assists with student employment both on and off campus, including work-study assistant positions and internship placements related to a student’s chosen major.

Student services
The AUAF Student Affairs Office is responsible for all aspects of student life outside the classroom. The office’s primary functions include providing advisors for students, preparing campus-wide events, and teaching courses on how to succeed at AUAF. These activities are integral to the educational activities of students, faculty, and university administration.
Housing services
AUAF provides limited housing options in university-run male and female residence halls, which are located near to the campus. Priority for housing assignments is given to enrolled, full-time, undergraduate students. Part-time, evening, and/or non-degree students are housed on a space-available basis only.
The Residence Life Office manages housing assignments and the day-to-day operations of the residence halls. Each residence hall has a full-time Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) and part-time Resident Assistant (RA) who oversee the facility as well as smooth the transition to university life. Students are encouraged to visit with their RA or RHC for any assistance they need.
Library services
With over 26,000 items in its collection, the Marlowe Library is one of the richest of its kind in Afghanistan. Focusing on scholarly topics taught at AUAF, the Marlowe Library offers a comprehensive collection to satisfy the needs of AUAF students, faculty and staff. The collection can be broken down as follows:
ICT services
The IT department provides a computer account and subsequent access to the Internet for all students. Network users are expected to use all network resources for purposes appropriate to the educational environment. Users must avoid using websites that are not consistent with the policies, purposes, or objectives of AUAF.
Campus life

Accreditation
AUAF attains accreditation status from the Ministry of Higher Education. The school is accredited for five years. AUAF will continue quality assessment and program review efforts to meet and exceed national standards and continue work on international accreditation through partners such as the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Georgetown University, Stanford, University of California system, and the American University of the Emirates.
