The Student Union is the largest student organization on campus, running independently under the instruction of the university Youth League committee, abiding by relevant laws and regulations. The Student Union serves for the benefits and improvement of students, acts as a bridge and bond between students and university authority. Initiating “self-education, self-administration, self-service and self-perfection”, the Student Union organizes various academic, cultural, sport activities as well as field trips according to students’ need, which helps students develop not merely academically but comprehensively. Our Student Union is a member of All-China Students Federation and holds deputy presidency of Hunan Students Federation.

The 66 building in the 7248 dormitories in school accommodate more than 315,00 students of the school. The school has set up logistics management office to carry out unified management of the water and electricity services, cleaning, repair services in student Residence.

The overseas, Hong Kong and Macao students admitted in the students Residence. The dormitory is equipped with separate toilet, desk, air conditioning, water heater, TV, telephone, refrigerator, network facilities and so on. The overseas student department execute the daily affairs management of the abroad, Hong Kong and Macao.

The university now has a total value of permanent assets 2,155 billion RMB Yuan, a total value of equipment 249 million RMB Yuan and a total collection of library 2.77 million volumes. Academic publications include Academic Journal of CSUFT (Natural Science edition and Social Science edition), Non-timber Research, Furniture and Interior Design, Forestry Tourism etc.

The university hospital is examined and approved by Insurance Bureau Labor of Changsha and Social Security Bureau as the first diagnosis. The medical center provides all students, faculty and their families with medical, health, health education, student health insurance and other services.
