History
Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) was founded in 1954 and is one of China’s earliest established higher institutions of Chinese Medicine. NJUCM provided the first wave of teachers, compiled the first series of textbooks and created the first edition of syllabus for the higher education of Chinese Medicine within China.
Education
NJUCM now has two campuses located in Xianlin and Hanzhongmen of Nanjing, together covering an area of over 100 hectares. It boasts 10 directly affiliated schools, 32 affiliated hospitals, and over 100 training and internship bases. NJUCM offers 28 undergraduate programs, covering six disciplines including medicine, management, science, engineering, economics, and humanities. It has 47 master programs, 32 doctor programs and 3 post-doctoral programs, with over 20,000 students at various levels on campus.
Research
NJUCM is WHO Collaborating Center for Traditional Medicine designated by the World Health Organization, and is International Acupuncture Training Center approved by the Ministry of Health, and is one of the first advanced Chinese Medicine institutions authorized by the Ministry of Education to enroll international students as well as students from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

Housing services
The international students dormitory on Xianlin Campus is recently built, which was put into use in 2015.
Library services
Library self-service system: the library has self-service system, students can query by the computer and manage the books needed. Both the username and password for the first time login are S+student number for undergraduates, G+student number for graduates. The password can be changed after loging.
Medical services
International students studying in NUCM for over 6 months (including 6 months) must buy medical insurance at college.For self- financed studentsForeign students have to buy the designated insurance, i.e. the group comprehensive insurance for international students.Students from HongKong, Macao and Taiwan regions have to buy the Urban Residence Medical Insurance.
Campus life
Hanzhong campus is the old campus of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, located in Hanzhongmen of the downtown. The main campus of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine is located in Nanjing Xianlin University City, in the center of highway network of the 312 State Road, Shanghai -Nanjing expressway, city surrounding highway connecting the second and fourth Changjiang River Bridge and the ring road, with convenient transportation and beautiful environment.
