History
In 1999 a non-state University was founded with one field of study and onespeciality. The inauguration ceremony opening the first academic year was attended by several hundreds of students. Year by year, the number of fields of study and specialities was growing, so was the number of renown and highly regarded lecturers. In 2004, The University obtained the right to award Master degrees.
Education
The University aims at teaching students both soft and hard skills that are currently essential in multinational and multicultural Europe.
Research
Applied Research Committee is an elementary unit which conducts the scientific activities at University of Economy. Organizational and administrative support is provided by the Executive Council of the Applied Research Committee, which also took over the responsibilities of the former Department of Science.
The main aim of CAR is to coordinate actions connected with research and to provide information about possibilities of scientific development of the academic staff of our university.

Housing services
The University cooperates with several dormitories in Bydgoszcz. These dormitories belong to other universities however, all international students who come to Bydgoszcz can apply for a place there.
Library services
Library is an essential part of the information system at the University of Economy. Every campus has got its own library. However, the Main Library is located at the campus in Bydgoszcz. At the moment, our collection consists of 45 000 items – books, journals, audiovisual documents, maps, standards and Eurocodes.
ICT services
- 61 working places and 33 computers with the Internet connection
- 2 scanners and 2 completely equipped working stations for people with disabilities e-Library
- The European Documentation Centre - the only European specialist library in Bydgoszcz
Campus life
The university modern campus is located in the very center of Bydgoszcz. it includes 13 buildings and recreational facilities in a compact complex with established greenery in a picturesque bend of the Brda River. Excellent transport links and proximity to rail and bus stations, as well as international airport are additional advantages.
Sports facilities
University of Economy have over 30 different sports club to choose from, all of them associated in the University Sports Association (AZS). Most of the clubs are open to all UoE students of any skill level, and some of them unite only professional sportsmen studying at the university.
The sports clubs at the university succeed in sport competitions at regional, nationwide and international level. Eight students from our university took part in the London 2012 Olympics and three of them: Beata Mikolajczyk, Magdalena Fularczyk and Adrian Zieli´nski won medals. In addition, UoE students are winners of many other international sport competitions.
