History
The University of Tehran is a public institution and considered as the most comprehensive University in the country. Rooted in Jondi Shapur University which dates back over 2,000 years, UT was established in 1851 and ratified in 1934 as the first modern university in Iran.
Education
Education wise, UT is extremely selective. Nationwide, while UT is the first choice of almost all students in all diciplines, only top 10% of the students can enter the university through the Iranian University Entrance Exam (Iran's Konkoor). Fully empowered with research, innovation, market skills, and demands, UT graduates are playing a central role in the country’s wide range of Industry, Agriculture, Science, Technology and Innovation as well Education, Social, and cultural sections, making a vital contribution to the nation’s development, and eventually leading to the success of the country’s governance.
Research
Research at UT takes place in all academic divisions; including humanities; engineering, physical and life sciences; medical sciences; and social sciences. It takes place across a range of disciplines in more than 60 research centres and more than 550 Laboratories. Research funding at UT has topped billion, including funds from the government, industry, community and other sections.

University Ranking
Student services
Office of International Relations provides information and assistance to international students, faculty members and researchers. It also establishes links between UT and other Iranian universities on the one hand and foreign universities, research institutes and centers on the other.
Housing services
There are a number of flats to be used as dormitories for students at UT-KIC. Dormitories consist of some off-campus well-furnished flats. All flats have a fully fitted kitchen, dining facilities, and Wi-Fi. Students may have a choice as to the number of the roommates or size of the apartments they would prefer to live in; single-room apartments (approximately 60 square meters) or double-room apartments (80 square meters). If you choose a single room you have one roommate, which means you only have one person to try to meet a balance with; however, there are four people in double rooms, two beds in each. Dorm rooms will be cleaned twice a week by university cleaners.
Library services
The Campus library has a reasonable collection of books (21927) both in Persian (12792) and English (9135). The campus also enjoys a comprehensive electronic library (e-books and e-journals)
Medical services
Upon their arrival, the student will be provided with the student health insurance on a paid basis. The university also has its own medical center on campus for registered students during the semester classes and exams periods. Cost -free services at UT-KIC medical and health center will be available for students during the daily working hours except Monday.
Campus life
University of Tehran Kish International Campus is pleased to offer a pleasant educational experience on a beautiful campus, with an up to date library, modern classrooms, computer sites, research labs, research centers, dormitories, student activity centers, student sports complex, cafeterias and restaurants. The campus also enjoys a bookstore, a health center, an advisory and consultant center, and ATM machines. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities and a broad range of social and cultural events at the University.

There is a full range of sports facilities at UT- KIC. There are opportunities for everyone to get involved, whether you just want to keep fit, play socially with friends or compete for the University in one of our sports teams. The fitness center provides a clean, safe and convenient place with a variety of equipment including; treadmills, cardio machines and stationary bicycles for you to improve your health and wellbeing.
